Here we start out with a B.C. Rich neck thru
ST-3 core. |
|
|
This picture shows the removal of the forearm contour on
the BC Rich neck thru ST-3 guitar body. |
|
A new piece of poplar wood has now been installed to
match the poplar sides on the original body. |
|
The entire top of the body was then milled off, and
leveled, thereby allowing for installation of a new
spalted maple laminate top in the next step. |
|
The new spalted maple top was glued down under clamp
pressure. |
|
The new book matched spalted maple laminate top has now
been installed. |
|
The two original humbucker PU routs, along with the trem
rout, were re-installed. |
|
The newly installed spalted maple laminate top was then
presealed. |
|
|
|
The side view displays how the new spalted
maple top appears in relation to the rest of
the original guitar body. This off angle
view displays how the spalted maple top was
taped off to reflect a uniform laminate top
thickness before the remaining guitar was
painted black, thereby rendering the final
spalted maple lam top shown. The bridge
inserts have been installed, along with the
factory control holes. The guitar has also
now been fully painted in the GMW paint
facility. |

The fully painted and assembled BC Rich ST-3
